Homey is in a festive mood!!
Who are we? I mean, who do we really think we are??
Well, Outta Style is mostly me, Jeff Turman – digital artist extra-ordinaire, philosophical guru, musicologist, and technical director for FOUNDRY digital design (also, the “lab” – my computer/listening area.)
A whole lotta Outta is also my wife, Liza Smith. She gets mad, mad props as a lot of the music is HERS! (I have a lot too, but let’s face it: she has wayyy better taste.)
She’ll be writing the occasion blurb on her favorite music of the now.
And we both like soup.
What is Outta Style? Like what does it mean?
Weelll, it is just fun with music – listening to music, playin music, samplin’ music. Musical History, and so on. “Outta Style” is a play on words: “outta” is both “outer” and “out of.” Music that is “in style” is typically of a lesser genre played on the radio. So we are “out of style.” “Outta” is also “outer” in that we are all from space, sent here to learn some shit. So the philosophy of Outta is to repect the music culture and learn as much shit as we can!
